During the month of May, our school community has been coming together each lunchtime in the Chapel to honour Our Lady through a variety of Marian prayers and devotions. As an extension of our usual Thursday Rosary, we held a beautiful Para Liturgy centred around the Crowning of Our Lady.
The liturgy was thoughtfully written and reverently delivered by our GIFT Team (Growing in Faith Together), who led the service with great maturity and faith. Pupils and staff gathered together at lunchtime to reflect on the example of Mary and to pray for our school community and the wider world.
A special moment within the liturgy was the Crowning of Our Lady, carried out by Katy Dewhurst in Year 7, who was given the honour of placing the crown upon Mary’s statue. Fresh flowers kindly provided by Mrs Holt added to the beauty and prayerful atmosphere of the Chapel.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Mrs Bell, who generously created and provided the beautiful crown for Our Lady. Her creativity, talent, and care helped make the occasion even more special and added greatly to the reverence and significance of the celebration.
These moments of prayer and reflection continue to be a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to grow in faith together and deepen their understanding of Mary’s importance within the life of the Church.
